Our Foundational Beliefs and Views

Lighthouse Church is a diverse community with beliefs  rooted in historic Christianity.

We Believe:

The Gospel is the Greatest Message in the World.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest message in the world. It is the message of forgiveness. It is the message of grace. It is the message of transformation. This good news of Jesus’ sacrificial life, is at the center of everything we do and believe.

God has a plan to transform the world through the Church.

God loves our world and wants to redeem it through the power of the church. We believe that God has called the church to bring holistic healing to our world.

The Holy Spirit empowers us to be Ambassadors for God’s Kingdom.

The Holy Spirit is essential to Christian living. The Holy Spirit opens our ears to hear the gospel. The Holy Spirit ushers us into God’s family. The Holy Spirit empowers us and gifts us in miraculous ways. At Lighthouse Church we firmly believe in the Gifts of the Spirit for the uplifting of the church, and also for the further of the gospel through miraculous acts of God.

No one is too far gone, too lost, or too broken for the love and mercy of Jesus!

We often tell people, “It’s okay to not be okay.” And we believe that! There is no one who is too broken to experience the love of God. So, we welcome you! We believe that the message Jesus is available for everyone, no matter what.

Statement of Faith

We believe:

  • the Scriptures are true, authoritative and sufficient.
  • there is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • all things exist for the glory of God.
  • all humanity—Christ excluded—is sinful by both birth and action.
  • the deserved penalty for sin is physical and spiritual death.
  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human.
  • Jesus Christ died as the sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin.
  • Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will one day physically return.
  • there will be a future physical resurrection of the dead. Only those who turn from sin and to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to eternal reward. Those who do not turn from sin and to Jesus will be raised to eternal punishment.
  • only through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy
